Bahrain: A Visual Diary

A personal animated project designed to document the unique heritage-based shape language that permeates the Bahraini identity.

My visual diary is a journey of inspiration that both allows me to develop my artistic identity and connect with the spirit of local Bahrainis. My work began after a visit to the many pottery houses scattered in A’Ali, where the artisans sent me on my way with a mind full of new ideas and several kilograms of local clay. After this, I was compelled to animate from the unique perspective I am able to hold as a visitor in this community.

The intention is to continue to expand the portfolio in response to my surroundings, to develop it into a body of work that reflects upon a particular period in my life and artistic career.
